Throughout my life, I have had the privilege to work with and on behalf of children. My most joy-filled days now are spent with our own kids and their friends and classmates. But I often wonder what it will take for us to realize we are all part of a larger community, with our individual decisions and behaviors impacting our friends, neighbors, and society at large. Our family supports our local children’s hospital, a research foundation driving treatments and a cure for a severe genetic epilepsy, adolescent mental health programs, equity in education, and community-based organizations addressing food insecurity. We connect through our stories. I hope by sharing our family’s commitment to supporting causes that improve the lives of kids, it encourages others to think about kids when they give too.
